The cure is not an innovation system or a perfectly mannered intrapreneur, the solution is a close relationship with several sponsors. Sponsors do not have to be your boss or even in your chain of command. They do have to have the courage and the clout to protect you and to see that you are rewarded. Good sponsors are rare. Companies that have them and protect and advance them are the innovators

Gifford Pinchot: Author of the book, IntrapareneuringGifford Pinchothttp://www.pinchot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26872242.post-50594611724381909742013-02-08T07:14:00.629-08:002013-02-08T07:14:00.629-08:00Exactly! Remember quite well my time at large Germany premium car maker where I initiated dozens of initiatives. They looked useless in the beginning yet the only goal for me was to make the life for workers easier and at the same time deliver higher quality (seen from the customer's perspective) with less resources.

Starting improvements in a stage where no real pressure is felt, you quickly become the "trouble maker", "dark seer" in the group.

Appreciation is seldom shown to the intrapreneurs, because they see developments in a larger sense for which others, bosses and peers, often don't have the view for.

Good to see when the started projects have become grown up and running - only a pity when nobody connects its start with the true initiator and innovator.RalfLippoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15149352083082630755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26872242.post-56874733352842817122010-11-06T04:55:13.433-07:002010-11-06T04:55:13.433-07:00Hi David,

Whereas in the time, e.g. setting up the BMW Plant Leipzig with lots of new and unknown processes with the notion to create a functioning factory producing BMW at highest quality from day One, where there was no fixed plan of execution the intrapreneur was very welcome.

In 2008 I moved out of the firm, as politics amongst departments became more and more the standard way of functioning, instead of focusing on the overall output and value creation.

Quite some installations, initial thoughts and innovations can be still seen in the plant that have my handwriting (and there is still some to come, presently some way "hidden" as people have no 20% off-time experiencing rule as at Google - yet).

My advise for intrapreneurs is: document your work and make yourself visible (even at the extend that at the very moment you do so, there is no big project yet rolled out - the time will come and if you don't do that today your name will be overwritten by the others who make your idea into their ideas!)RalfLippoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15149352083082630755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26872242.post-51999601441000957262010-10-30T18:28:16.662-07:002010-10-30T18:28:16.662-07:00Nearly all presenters lamented the lack of a busin...Nearly all presenters lamented the lack of a business model mainstream media companies can employ in order to adapt to and be profitable in the innovation ecosystem.James Morgan - Puritan Financial Advisorhttp://hubpages.com/hub/Puritan-Financial-Groupnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26872242.post-56006992560661683522010-10-14T08:25:20.355-07:002010-10-14T08:25:20.355-07:00I was thinking about turning into an environmental...I was thinking about turning into an environmental journslist but it is hard. The police have insufficient evidence for a conviction, and, having separated the prisoners, visit each of them to offer the same deal. If one testifies for the prosecution against the other (defects) and the other remains silent (cooperates), the defector goes free and the silent accomplice receives the full 10-year sentence. If both remain silent, both prisoners are sentenced to only six months in jail for a minor charge. If each betrays the other, each receives a five-year sentence. Each prisoner must choose to betray the other or to remain silent. Each one is assured that the other would not know about the betrayal before the end of the investigation.
